Page of book containing 185 leaves with a collection of lithographs, aquatints, engravings, and other media, with ornamental designs published by Fleury Chavant in Paris, part of the publication "Guide du Dessinateur de l'industrie: une macédoine de dessins variés , tels que fleurs, ornemens, etc. ... Ouvrage destiné aux fabricants et dessinateurs de soieries... et Papiers Peints..." This plate contains ornamental designs with bundles of flowers and leaves, all executed with black ink on thin, light brown paper. On the upper part of the page is a frame made up of scrolling acanthus leaves, shell motis, and pearls, some flanked by petaloids to form fragments of rosettes, containing a large bundle with stylized flowers, leaves, and fruits, on an ornamental vase made up of scrolling acanthus leaves, shells and pearls. This frame, reflecting the earlier styles predominant during the reign of Louis XVI, presents an example of one of the 19th-century revivalisms of earlier design styles. It would have likely been colored with pastel shades of green, purple, yellow and blue, as was typical of the style. Under the frame are three smaller bundles with stylized exotic flowers and leaves, one of them also with Japanese-style lanterns standing on one of the flowers.
