Bodhisattva, probably Padmapani Lokeshvara
This bodhisattva, richly bejeweled and crowned, holds a flywhisk in his raised hand, indicating that he was designed to attend an image of the Buddha. Stylistically, this work belongs to the transitional post-Licchavi period, when eastern Indian Pala influences are evident in the greater adornment and elaboration of detail.
